• Screen and investigate cases for merit

• Define applicable standards of care

• Define deviation from, and adherences to, applicable standards of care

• Assess alleged damages and/or injuries

• Identify factors that caused or contributed to alleged damages or injuries

• Organize, tab, and paginate medical records

• Summarize, translate, and interpret medical records

• Identify and recommend potential defendants

• Conduct literature searches and integrate the literature and standard/guidelines into the case analysis

• Research and analyze the validity and reliability of research studies relied on by all parties

• Identify and review relevant medical records, hospital policies and procedures and other essential documents.

• Identify types of testifying experts needed

• Analyze and compare expert witness reports and other work products

• Review, analyze, and summarize depositions, including past testimony

• Attend depositions, trials, review panels, and arbitration and mediation hearings

• Develop reports for use as study tools by the attorney

• Coordinate and attend independent medical examinations (IMEs)
